HomeMed ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Our core philosophy is "Your Data, Your Device." HomeMed is designed as an offline-first application.
• All information regarding your medicines, including names, dosages, categories, and stock batches, is stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage (Hive).
• We do not operate central servers, and we do not have access to your personal medicine inventory.
To provide our services, the app interacts with the following data on your device:
A. Local Inventory Data
Users manually enter or capture data including:
• Medicine names and descriptions.
• Quantity, units, and stock batch details.
• Expiration dates.
• Storage locations.
B. Media and Camera Access
• Camera Usage: The app allows you to take photos of medicine strips and packaging to 'Digitize Your Meds.'
• Storage: These images are stored exclusively in your device's private app directory. They are never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party.
C. App Usage Preferences
We use local storage (Shared Preferences) to remember your app settings, such as your preferred language and whether you have completed the Onboarding Screen.
While the app’s core functionality is offline, we use the following third-party service for monetization:
Google AdMob
• We display banner ads via Google AdMob.
• AdMob may collect certain information to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, including your Device ID, approximate location (IP-based), and ad interaction data.
• For more information on how Google uses your data, please visit Google’s Privacy & Terms.
To function correctly, HomeMed requires the following permissions:
• Camera: To take photos of medicines.
• Notifications: To send you alerts when your medicines are 'Expiring Soon' or have 'Expired.'
• Alarms/Reminders: To ensure notifications are delivered at the precise time scheduled.
Since all data is stored on your device:
• Deletion: You can delete specific medicine records or batches within the app at any time.
• Full Wipe: Uninstalling the HomeMed app will permanently delete all stored medicine data and images from your device. As we do not keep backups on our servers, this data cannot be recovered once deleted.
Our application does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children. We encourage parents to be involved in the medicine management of minors.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the 'Last Updated' date at the top of this page.
