Privacy Policy for BillBabu

Welcome to BillBabu, a fast and simple invoicing application designed for Indian freelancers and small businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application ("App").

We are committed to protecting your privacy. BillBabu is designed to work entirely offline — your business data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you use BillBabu, you voluntarily enter information stored only on your device:
* Business Profile: Business name, phone number, email, address, logo
* Owner Profile: Your name, phone number
* Customer Data: Customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses
* Invoice Data: Invoice numbers, item names, quantities, prices, tax/discount details, notes, due dates
* Payment Settings: UPI ID, bank name, account holder name, account number, IFSC code

2.2 Information Accessed From Your Device
* Contacts (Optional): With your permission, BillBabu can read your device's contact list to help you quickly add customers to an invoice. We only read contact details at the moment you choose to import a contact. We do not continuously access, copy, or sync your contact list.
* Camera / Photo Library (Optional): With your permission, BillBabu accesses your photo library solely to let you upload a business logo that appears on your invoices. The image is saved locally on your device.
* Storage / File System: The App writes generated PDF invoices to your device's temporary storage so you can share or preview them. These files are automatically cleared by the operating system.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
* We do not collect analytics or usage data.
* We do not use tracking technologies, cookies, or advertising SDKs.
* We do not transmit any personal or business data to external servers.
* We do not create accounts or require registration.
* We do not access your location.
* We do not access your microphone or camera for recording.

All data you enter is used exclusively to operate the App on your device:
* Generating Invoices — Your business and customer details are used to create professional PDF invoices.
* Invoice Reminders — If you set a due date on an invoice, the App schedules a local notification on your device to remind you before the due date. These notifications are processed entirely on-device.
* Sharing Invoices — When you tap "Share," the App generates a PDF and opens your device's native share sheet. We do not intercept, copy, or log this content.

All your data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted local database (Hive). We do not operate servers or cloud infrastructure that stores your data.

What this means for you:
* If you delete the App, all your data is permanently deleted from your device.
* If you change devices, your data is not automatically transferred. You are responsible for any backups.
* No one — including Devasya Innovations — can access your data remotely.

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal or business information with any third party.

The only scenario where data is shared is when you actively choose to share an invoice PDF via your device's share sheet. In that case, you are using your device's own sharing mechanism (e.g., WhatsApp, email, etc.), and the data is governed by the privacy policies of those third-party apps.

BillBabu does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud services. The App uses the following open-source libraries, all of which operate entirely on-device:
* Hive — Local database for data storage
* pdf (dart package) — PDF generation on-device
* share_plus — Opens your device's native share sheet
* flutter_local_notifications — Schedules due-date reminders on-device
* flutter_contacts — Reads contacts only when you explicitly trigger an import

None of these libraries send data to external servers.

BillBabu is intended for use by individuals aged 18 and above (business owners, freelancers, and professionals). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove such information.

The App requests the following device permissions:
* Contacts: Import customer details from your phone contacts (Optional)
* Photo Library / Storage: Upload a business logo image (Optional)
* Notifications: Send due-date reminders for invoices (Optional)

All permissions are requested at the time they are needed, and you can deny or revoke them at any time through your device's Settings without affecting the core invoicing functionality.

Since all data is stored on your device, the security of your data depends on the security of your device. We recommend:
* Setting a strong device passcode or biometric lock
* Keeping your device's operating system up to date
* Not sharing your device with untrusted individuals

We design BillBabu following industry best practices for mobile app security.

Because all your data is stored only on your device, you have complete control:
* Access — Open the App to view all your data at any time.
* Edit — Edit any business, customer, or invoice data directly in the App.
* Delete — Delete individual invoices or customers within the App, or uninstall the App to permanently erase all data.
* Export — Share any invoice as a PDF at any time.

There is no need to contact us to exercise these rights since you have direct, full control.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of the App after changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
